06/16/2003 - We have now recieved the patch which will resolve the issues detailed in this article. Please visit the InstantKB.NET support forum to download the patch.
Symptoms
After installing InstantKB.NET i'm receiving client-side JavaScript errors when accessing pages that contain postbacks or server form controls.
Cause
This is a known issue within the final .NET framework 1.1 release. It will effect any InstantKB.NET page that hosts a server form control within a naming container such as a UserControl. All the InstantKB.NET pages are encapsulated within UserControls to allow for easy integration into existing applications. For this reason the doPostBack bug will effect all InstantKB.NET pages.
This issue is detailed within the Microsoft Knowledge Base article 818803
Resolution
To resolve this problem obtain the ASP.NET Hotfix Rollup from Microsoft. Details of how to obtain the fix can be found in Microsoft Knowledge Base article 818058. Unfortunately at the time of writing this document Microsoft have not made the rollup publicly available for download. You must call Microsoft Support to obtain the patch. According to the Microsoft ASP.NET forums a public download will be available very shortly which will address this issue.
