Within InstantKB you can associate one or more user groups with each user. User groups can be used to control access to content within your public facing knowledgebase. For further information on user groups please refer to our How User Groups Work within InstantKB.
To associate an existing account with specific user groups please follow the steps below...
- Navigate to your InstantKB administrator control panel
- Click "Users" on the left, Click "Users" again from the revealed menu.
- Locate the user account you wish to edit & click the user name
- Locate the "User Groups" panel when editing a user account within the Admin CP.
You can see below we are editing a users groups....

You can set both the users primary user group and secondary user group when editing there profile.
Primary User Group
The primary user group associated with a user is used to both control the permission set applied to the user and also used to control access to content.
Secondary User Groups
The secondary user groups associated with a user are simply used to control access to content within your InstantKB installation for that user.
