This information only applies to customers who assisting during the beta and release candidate phases of InstantKB.NET 2.0.
If you've downloaded InstantKB.NET 2.0 RC2 released on the Weds 3rd April and would like to update to the final full release.
We will continue to update this download as needed with further fixes until the final 2.0 release.
Fixed with this update
- Fixed search attachments feature.
- Fixed problem with member group menu links when viewing member permissions.
- Member photos & member level images are now updated correctly from the Admin & staff CP when editing a members profile.
- Fixed issue when attempting to edit workflow steps.
- Fixed Manage Glossary Permissions issue.
- Fixed problem when updating a general members permission sets.
- Fixed search options in member permission sets not applying correctly.
- Fixed issue with anonymous users accessing content attachments.
- Fixed issue with member level image not uploading on add / edit member level page,
- Fixed comment count search options.
- Fixed issue with custom member level images not appearing correctly on member list.
- Category & troubleshooter title can now have spaces again.
- Fixed several grammatical & spelling errors
- Add option to 1.3 upgrade script to import any existing custom article types and link these correctly. (thanks Phophet)
Other Known Issues (not addressed with this update)
- Added option to staff permission sets to provide the ability to restrict staff members so they may only edit, view & delete the content they have created within the staff control panel.
- Added option based on user feedback during the RC2 release (thanks Chris) to allow administrators to more easily debug any email problems you may encounter due to SMTP configuration or relaying permissions.
Installation Instructions
To apply the final update update please download the InstantKB.NET 2.0 Final release from within your My.InstantASP client area. Once you've downloaded the files simply replace all your existing files (excluding your web.config file) with the latest versions of all files.
You'll then need to run a small SQL Script against your existing RC2 database to update 3 stored procedures. You can download the RC2_to_Final.sql script below. You'll need to open this within SQL Server Management Studio or Query Analyzer within SQL Server 2000 Enterprise Manager and execute the attached script against your InstantKB.NET 2.0 RC2 database. Once you've replaced all files and upgraded your database you should attempt to access your existing installation via your web browser. If you run into any problems please don't hesitate to post within our community forums or contact us.
